STARRETT
INTRODUCES WOODPECKER PREMIUM BAND SAW BLADES FOR FAST, PRECISE CUTTING OF WOOD
WITH LESS WASTE
ATHOL,
MASSACHUSETTS (January 23, 2003) The L. S. Starrett Co. has added Woodpecker
Premium to its broad selection of saw blades. With thin kerf and ground teeth,
Woodpecker is ideal for the furniture industry, cabinetmakers, box and pallet
makers. Woodpecker blades produce fast, precise cuts, are long lasting, and provide
a smooth finish and less waste.
"Woodpecker teeth are ground and
induction hardened to 62RC for the ultimate in durability and precision,"
according to Alan (Tiny) Coffin, Starrett Saw Sales Manager. "In addition,
Woodpecker has a back hardness of 45RC spring temper that allows the blades to
withstand high pressure and increased resistance to fatigue during cutting while
providing smooth, precise cuts. With blades as thin as .020" Woodpecker provides
highly efficient chip removal with less material loss than conventional band saw
blades. Overall Woodpecker is the ideal choice for productive, economical wood
cutting."
Starrett
Woodpecker Premium blades are manufactured with skip or hook type teeth that are
ground and precision set. Teeth can be reground, sharpened and reset. Blades are
available in 250' coils (or welded to length, upon request), in 19 widths and
thickness from 1/4" x .020" to 2 9/16" x .042".
